Game description:

Batman: Return of the Joker is a run-and-gun action platformer developed by Sunsoft and released for the NES in 1991. Following the success of the first Batman game on the console, this sequel shifts gameplay away from melee combat and wall-jumping to a focus on ranged firepower. Armed with a wrist-mounted projector, Batman must fight his way through Gotham City to stop the Joker. The title is widely celebrated for its outstanding graphics and driving soundtrack, which pushed the 8-bit NES hardware to its limits to deliver a near 16-bit experience.

How to Play

Navigate through challenging side-scrolling stages, defeat enemies using your wrist projector, and survive intense boss battles to foil the Joker’s plans.

  • Move: Arrow Keys
  • Jump: Z
  • Shoot: X
  • Start / Pause: Enter
  • Select: Shift

Tips

  • Slide Attack: Press Down + Jump (Z) to perform a slide. This move is essential for dodging enemy fire and navigating under low obstacles while dealing damage.
  • Weapon Management: You will find various weapon capsules (like ‘C’ for Crossbow or ‘B’ for Batarang). Experiment with different types, as some are better suited for specific bosses or tightly packed enemies.
