Game description:

The Bard’s Tale II: The Destiny Knight is a classic first-person dungeon-crawling RPG released for the NES in 1992. As a direct continuation of the first game’s systems, you command a party of adventurers journeying across six distinct cities. Your ultimate goal is to recover the scattered fragments of the powerful Destiny Wand and defeat the villainous Archmage Lagoth Zanta, who has plunged the realm into chaos.

How to Play

Navigate the cities, wilderness, and deep dungeons in a first-person perspective, engaging in challenging turn-based tactical combat against hordes of monsters. In the browser emulator, use the Arrow Keys to move your party and navigate menus. Press Z (A) to confirm actions or attack, X (B) to cancel or go back, and Enter (Start) to access your party menus.

Tips

  • Always keep a well-balanced party; having a dedicated spellcaster and a sturdy frontline fighter is essential for surviving the deeper dungeon levels.
  • Map out the dungeons carefully, as they are filled with traps, teleporters, and anti-magic zones that can easily disorient you.
  • Visit temples regularly to heal your party and level up when you have accumulated enough experience points.
