Game description:

Atomix is a challenging puzzle game released for DOS in 1990 by Thalion Software. Players are tasked with assembling complex molecules from scattered atoms within a strict time limit, requiring careful spatial reasoning.

How to play

You must recreate the target molecule shown on screen by moving atoms around the play area. Once set in motion, an atom will slide in that direction until it hits a wall or another atom; you cannot stop it midway. Use the arrow keys to select an atom, press Space or Enter to grab it, and use the arrow keys to choose the direction it will slide. For fullscreen, press Right Alt + Enter.

Tips

  • Plan your moves in reverse. Look at the target molecule, identify which atoms must be placed last, and figure out the sequence from the end to the beginning.
  • Use other atoms as temporary blockers. You will often need to park an atom in a specific spot just to catch another atom as it slides past.
