Pilot the Vaus spacecraft in Arkanoid, a sci-fi evolution of the classic block-breaking formula released for the NES. Originally developed by Taito for arcades, this Japanese release tasks you with deflecting an energy ball to destroy formations of space blocks, introducing a variety of falling power-ups and floating enemies that dramatically change how the game plays.
How to Play
Clear all colored blocks on each level to advance without letting the energy ball slip past your paddle. Use the Arrow Keys to move your spacecraft left and right. Press Z or X to fire lasers (when equipped) or to release the ball if you have the Catch power-up. Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Prioritize the Laser (L) power-up to blast through blocks directly rather than relying on the ball.
- The Catch (C) power-up lets you hold the ball and reposition before firing, which is perfect for targeting the last few hard-to-hit blocks on a stage.
- Floating enemies won’t destroy your paddle, but they will unpredictably bounce the energy ball—try to hit them with the ball or lasers to keep control over its trajectory.
