American Pro Football is a classic sports simulation for the Sega Master System, originally released in North America as Walter Payton Football. This European version drops the branding but retains the exact same gridiron gameplay, allowing you to select offensive and defensive plays, execute passes, and run the ball in full 11-on-11 matches.

How to Play

The objective is to outscore the opposing team by moving the ball down the field for touchdowns and field goals before time expires.

• D-pad (Arrows): Move your player, navigate menus, and select plays.
• Button 1 (Z): Snap the ball, throw to the primary receiver, switch to the defender closest to the ball, or kick.
• Button 2 (X): Use a speed burst when running, or throw to the secondary receiver.
• Start (Enter): Pause the game.

Tips

• When running the ball, save your speed burst (Button 2) for when you reach the open field to break away from chasing defenders.
• On defense, manually switch to the player nearest the ball carrier right after the snap to make more reliable tackles.
