Amagon is a 1989 side-scrolling action-platformer for the NES, developed by Aicom. You play as a Marine who crash-lands on a monster-infested island and must fight his way to safety, starting with just a standard-issue rifle.
How to Play
As you explore the island, collect power-ups to survive. The most important is the Megamagon icon, which transforms Amagon into a massive, muscular powerhouse. In this form, you lose the rifle but gain a devastating punch and a larger health pool to absorb enemy attacks. The goal is to reach the rescue ship at the end of the final stage.
Controls: Use the D-pad (Arrow keys) to move, A (Z) to jump, and B (X) to shoot your rifle or punch as Megamagon. Press Start (Enter) to pause.
Tips
- Keep an eye on your Megamagon health; it slowly depletes over time in addition to taking damage from enemies.
- Don’t rush as standard Amagonโyou are fragile. Use your rifle to safely pick off enemies from a distance.
