Game description:

Developed by Nintendo and published by Fuji Television in 1986, All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. is a rare, promotional reimagining of the classic NES platformer. Created as a giveaway for the Japanese radio program All Night Nippon, it takes the familiar action of the original game and remixes it with levels from The Lost Levels, while swapping out enemies like Goombas and Piranha Plants for caricatures of famous Japanese radio DJs and idols.

How to play

The core objective remains the same: navigate through eight worlds of perilous jumps, enemies, and obstacles to rescue the princess. You can run, jump, and use power-ups like the Super Mushroom and Fire Flower to survive the increasingly difficult stages.

Tips

  • Since this version incorporates stages from The Lost Levels, expect a much steeper difficulty curve than the original game, with trickier jumps and tighter timing required.
  • Pay close attention to the replaced enemy sprites; though they look like celebrities, their hitboxes and behaviors match the original Goombas and Piranha Plants.
