Akumajou Densetsu, released by Konami in 1989, is the original Japanese version of the NES classic Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. This English-translated action-platformer allows players to experience the legendary game in its original form, most notably featuring the enhanced VRC6 audio chip for a vastly superior musical soundtrack compared to its Western release.
How to Play
Guide Trevor Belmont and his allies through challenging stages to defeat Dracula. By default for NES games in the browser, use the Arrow Keys to move, Z to jump (A button), X to attack with your whip or current weapon (B button), and Enter to start or pause. Pressing Up alongside your attack button uses your equipped sub-weapon.
Tips
Each ally offers a unique advantage: Grant can climb walls and change direction mid-jump, making tricky platforming sections much easier, while Sypha’s elemental magic can devastate bosses. Remember that you can only bring one companion with you at a time, so choose your branching paths carefully based on whose abilities you need most.
