Airwolf is a mission-based helicopter shooter released for the NES in 1989. Developed by Beam Software and published by Acclaim, it puts you in the cockpit of the famous high-tech attack helicopter. You must infiltrate enemy bases, rescue prisoners, and navigate treacherous air defences while carefully managing your fuel and damage levels.
How to Play
In each mission, your objective is to rescue a set number of prisoners and destroy the enemy base’s core before your fuel runs out or you take too much damage. Use the D-pad to fly the helicopter. Press the A button to fire your primary weapons, and the B button to launch missiles. (On a keyboard, these are mapped to the Arrow Keys, Z, and X respectively.)
Tips
Keep a close eye on your fuel gauge; firing your weapons and taking damage will drain it faster. Look out for fuel pods dropped by destroyed enemies or placed around the levels, and try to memorise the locations of prisoners to avoid wasting time on empty corridors.
