Cruis’n USA is Midway Games’ high-octane 1994 arcade racing hit, brought to the Nintendo 64 as a landmark 3D highway driving game. Players speed coast-to-coast across America—from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to the White House lawn in Washington, D.C.—behind the wheel of classic muscle cars, sports cars, and hot rods.
How to Play
Drive point-to-point through fourteen distinct American stages, weaving past civilian traffic and beating strict checkpoint timers while competing against nine rival drivers. Use the arrow keys to steer, Z or X for the accelerator and brake, and Enter for Start. Press the C-keys to switch between four different camera perspectives.
Tips
- Stick to the inside lane on bends: Drifting too wide into oncoming traffic or roadside scenery will cause a crash, losing valuable seconds that are hard to recover before the next checkpoint.
- Learn the route splits: Certain tracks branch into alternate paths; taking tunnel routes or off-road shortcuts can save crucial time over the standard highway lanes.
- Manage your speed before turns: Ease off the gas before entering sharp corners rather than braking mid-turn to maintain top exit speed down straightaways.
