Game description:

Doom 64 is a 1997 first-person shooter developed by Midway Games for the Nintendo 64. Unlike other console ports of the era, it is a completely original game with a darker, horror-focused atmosphere, redesigned demon sprites, and new levels. You navigate labyrinthine, puzzle-heavy maps on Mars and in Hell, hunting for colored keycards while managing ammunition and surviving ambushes.

How to play

The objective is to find the exit in each level while surviving hordes of demons. You will need to locate red, yellow, and blue keycards or skull keys to unlock corresponding doors. In the browser emulator, the Nintendo 64 analog stick is mapped to the arrow keys for movement, while the Z trigger for firing and C-buttons for strafing are mapped to your keyboard. Strafing is essential for dodging projectiles from Imps and Hell Knights.

Tips

Pay close attention to the environment, as discolored walls or misaligned textures often hide secret areas containing armor, health, or weapons. Finding the hidden secret levels allows you to collect three Demon Keys, which fully upgrade the Unmaker, a powerful laser weapon exclusive to this game. Use the Super Shotgun for close-range encounters with heavier enemies, but switch to the Chaingun to stun-lock foes at a distance.
