Developed by Velez & Dubail and released in 2000, Le Mans 24 Hours (also known as Test Drive: Le Mans) brings impressive endurance racing to the Game Boy Color. Pushing the handheld hardware with a smooth pseudo-3D engine, the game captures the spirit of the legendary race by incorporating dynamic day-night cycles, changing weather conditions, and crucial pit stop strategies.
How to Play
You can compete in Arcade, Championship, or the signature Le Mans endurance mode. Managing fuel and tire wear is essential during longer races, so you must time your pit stops carefully to avoid breaking down. By default, the Game Boy Color controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the Arrow Keys to steer, Z to accelerate (A), X to brake (B), and Enter or Shift for Start and Select.
Tips
- Watch the Weather: Track conditions can change from clear to rainy or foggy. Adjust your pit strategy and driving style when visibility and grip decrease.
- Manage Your Fuel: In Championship and Le Mans modes, keeping an eye on your fuel gauge is just as important as your speed. Don’t risk running out on the track.
