Kirby Super Star is an ambitious 1996 action-platformer developed by HAL Laboratory for the SNES. Rather than a single long adventure, it offers eight distinct games in one package, ranging from the classic platforming of Spring Breeze to the sprawling treasure hunt of The Great Cave Offensive and the fast-paced combat of Revenge of Meta Knight. It introduced the beloved partner system, allowing players to transform copied abilities into a helper for cooperative play, alongside vastly expanded move sets for each power.
How to play
Inhale enemies to absorb their powers or spit them out as projectiles. With an ability equipped, you can press A to create a helper character from it, allowing for two-player co-op. Each power now has multiple moves performed with different button combinations and directional inputs.

Tips
- Guard often: Unlike earlier titles, Kirby can block attacks using the shoulder buttons (Q or E), which negates most incoming damage.
- Helper healing: If you grab a food item, you can share it with your helper by touching them within a few seconds, restoring both your health bars.
- Invincibility frames: Many abilities, such as Suplex throws or Sword dashes, make you temporarily invincible during their animation. Use this to safely phase through bosses.
