Cruis’n Exotica is a fast-paced arcade racing game released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000, ported by Gratuitous Games from the original Midway cabinet. It takes the series’ signature over-the-top driving and turns it up a notch, sending players across surreal environments ranging from the underwater ruins of Atlantis to the surface of Mars. You can choose from a bizarre roster of unlockable vehicles, including everything from sports cars to forklifts and UFOs.

How to Play

The objective is to beat the clock and finish first in a series of checkpoint-based races. Steer your vehicle using the Arrow Keys. Accelerate with the A button (typically mapped to X on your keyboard) and brake with the B button (typically mapped to C).

Tips

• Master the Flip: Double-tap the accelerate button to pop a wheelie. If you bump an opponent while tilted, your car will perform a flip over them, granting a helpful speed boost and shaving seconds off your time.
• Find the Shortcuts: Every level contains hidden shortcuts. Keep an eye out for environmental cues like unusual plants or signs that signal a branching path.
• Mid-Air Stunts: When launching off a ramp, hold accelerate and press left or right to perform a mid-air spin, which helps maintain momentum upon landing.
