Released in 1991 by Manley & Associates, Home Alone brings the classic holiday movie to the NES as an action-platformer. You step into the shoes of Kevin McCallister, who has been left behind by his family and must defend his house from the persistent Wet Bandits, Harry and Marv.
How to play
Your objective is to survive for 20 minutes in real-time until the police arrive. Instead of fighting the burglars directly, you must move from room to room, gathering household items and placing them on the floor as traps to slow your pursuers down. Use the Arrow keys to move Kevin, X (A) to jump, and Z (B) to pick up or drop traps. Press Enter to pause or start, and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Keep moving constantly. Staying in one room allows the bandits to easily corner you.
- Learn the layout of the house and its staircases so you never accidentally run into a dead end.
- Conserve your traps and place them strategically in narrow hallways or at the tops of stairs where the bandits are forced to step on them.
