Game description:

Lunar Ball (also known as Lunar Pool) is a 1985 billiards game for the NES that takes standard pool physics and applies them to radically different table shapes. Instead of playing on a traditional rectangle, you are challenged to sink balls on tables shaped like stars, intricate mazes, and other complex geometric patterns.

How to play

The objective is to sink all the numbered balls into the pockets using the white cue ball before you run out of shots or lose your cue ball to a pocket.

Controls: Use the Arrow keys (D-pad) to aim your shot. Press Z or X (A or B buttons) to set the power and shoot. Press Enter (Start) to begin or pause, and Shift (Select) to navigate the title menus.

Tips

  • Before starting a level, you can adjust the friction rate. Lowering the friction allows balls to bounce much longer, which is crucial for navigating the more complex, maze-like tables.
  • Pay close attention to the aiming line, but remember that the strange angles of the irregular table borders will cause the cue ball to ricochet in unpredictable ways compared to a standard pool table.
