Game description:

Developed by Sunsoft in 1990, Gremlins 2: The New Batch is a top-down action game for the NES that loosely follows the events of the movie. Players take control of Gizmo as he navigates the trap-filled floors of the Clamp Center, battling a horde of mischievous mutant Gremlins using an arsenal of makeshift weapons like tomatoes and matchstick bows.

How to Play

Your objective is to guide Gizmo through each stage of the Clamp building, defeating enemies and surviving environmental hazards to reach the boss. In the browser, the default NES controls are mapped as follows:

  • Move: Arrow Keys
  • Jump: Z
  • Attack: X
  • Start (Pause/Menu): Enter
  • Select: Shift

Tips

  • Collect Crystals: Defeated enemies drop crystals. Gather as many as you can, as you will need them to purchase health upgrades, extra lives, and stronger weapons from Mr. Wing’s shop between levels.
  • Master the Jump: Since the game uses a top-down perspective, judging jump distances over pits can be tricky. Look at Gizmo’s shadow to gauge exactly where he will land.
