Developed by Toshiba EMI and released for the NES in 1986, Bird Week is a nature-themed arcade simulation where you play as a mother bird raising her chicks. To succeed, you must fly across the level to catch butterflies and deliver them back to the nest to feed your hungry babies. Once the chicks have eaten enough, they will mature and fly away, allowing you to advance to the next season.
How to Play
Your objective is to keep your chicks fed until they can leave the nest, while surviving the dangers of the wild. The game uses standard NES controls, mapped for your browser: use the Arrow Keys to fly around, Z / X for your A and B buttons, and Enter / Shift for Start and Select.
Tips
- Avoid predators like eagles and other hostile animals, as touching them will cost you a life.
- Make sure to feed your chicks before they starve; pay attention to their movements to see when they are hungry.
- Try to catch butterflies that fly closer to your nest to save time and reduce the risk of being intercepted.
