Game description:

Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi Bangi – Sugoroku Eiyuuki is a 1994 Super Nintendo board-game spin-off developed and published in Japan by Angel, Bandai’s toy and games subsidiary. It is based on manga artist Mitsuteru Yokoyama’s celebrated adaptation of the Chinese classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms, recasting the historical epic’s warring states as a sugoroku (Japanese board game), with the characters redrawn in a lighter, super-deformed style than the original manga.

How to Play

Players take control of a Three Kingdoms-era warlord and move across a board representing the divided territories of ancient China, advancing space by space and landing on squares that trigger one-on-one battles against rival soldiers and bandits, random events, or shifts in status and fortune. Progress comes from claiming territory and reacting to what each square brings rather than real-time action, so each turn is about reading the board and picking the most useful move.

Controls

  • Navigate Board / Menu: Arrow Keys
  • Confirm / Select: Z Key (SNES B button)
  • Cancel / Back: X Key (SNES A button)
  • Start / Pause: Enter (Start button)
