Wing Commander: The Secret Missions is a 1993 space combat simulation game for the SNES. Released as a standalone cartridge for the console, it continues the storyline immediately after the events of the original game’s Vega Campaign. Players return to the cockpit of a Terran Confederation starfighter aboard the carrier Tiger’s Claw to hunt down a devastating new Kilrathi superweapon capable of destroying entire planets.
How to Play
You must manage your fighter’s energy, shields, and targeting systems while dogfighting Kilrathi forces in 3D space. Navigate through nav points and eliminate enemy wings to succeed. For the SNES, use the D-pad to pitch and yaw, and the face buttons (mapped to Z, X, A, and S on your keyboard) to fire weapons, launch missiles, and control your throttle.
Tips
– Your ship’s shields recharge, but core armor does not. If your front shield is depleted, turn away to let it regenerate and expose a protected side to enemy fire.
– Conserve your missiles for heavily armored targets or capital ships; rely on your standard blasters for dogfighting agile light fighters.
