Mr. Do! brings the classic 1982 arcade maze-chase experience to the Super Nintendo. Released for the SNES in 1995, this faithful port puts you in control of a clown tasked with either harvesting all the cherries on each stage or defeating every enemy that spawns. While it shares similarities with Dig Dug, you dig your own paths through the dirt to collect fruit, while the pursuing “Creepies” follow your trails to track you down.
How to Play
Your goal on each stage is to clear the board of cherries, eliminate all enemies, or spell the word “EXTRA” by defeating the alphabetic monsters that occasionally appear. You can crush enemies by digging under the large apples scattered around the stage and letting them fall, or by throwing your Power Ball to instantly defeat a monster.
Controls:
- Arrow Keys (D-pad): Move Mr. Do and dig through the dirt.
- Z or X (A/B Buttons): Throw your Power Ball.
- Enter (Start): Pause the game.
Tips for Mr. Do!
- The Power Ball must recharge: You only have one Power Ball. Once thrown, you are defenseless until it bounces back to you or slowly regenerates after hitting an enemy.
- Set apple traps: The most efficient way to clear groups of Creepies is to dig under an apple, wait for them to follow you into the vertical shaft, and let the apple fall to crush them all at once.
- Hunt the EXTRA monsters: When you collect the center prize on the board, an Alphamonster carrying a letter drops in. Defeating them adds a letter to “EXTRA”; spelling it completely awards an extra life and automatically clears the current level.
