Jurassic Park is a 1993 action-adventure game for DOS developed by Ocean Software. Playing as Dr. Alan Grant, you must survive the island’s escaped dinosaurs, reboot the park’s systems, and find a way to escape. The game is notable for blending two perspectives: navigating the jungle environments from a top-down view, and exploring the interiors of buildings in a tense, first-person 3D perspective.
How to Play
Your objective is to complete a series of tasks to restore power and call for a helicopter rescue. The outdoor sections require you to gather weapons and ID cards while avoiding or fending off dinosaur attacks. When you enter a building, the game shifts to a first-person shooter perspective where you must navigate maze-like corridors, clear rooms of raptors, and locate computer terminals. Move using the Arrow keys, fire your weapon with the Spacebar, and use Enter to access terminals or switch weapons.
Tips
Ammunition for your more powerful weapons is strictly limited. Rely on your default cattle prod to stun smaller dinosaurs whenever possible, and save your heavy firepower like the shotgun or tranquilizer darts for surviving the dangerous first-person indoor areas. Make sure to log into any computer terminals you find inside buildings to unlock security doors and access vital information needed to progress.
