Hyper Sports is Konami’s 1984 multi-event sports game and the direct sequel to Track & Field (Hyper Olympic). Originally an arcade hit, this Sega SG-1000 port challenges you across a series of athletic disciplines — each demanding a different mix of rapid button work and split-second timing.
How to Play
Events rotate between speed-driven challenges, where you alternate button presses as fast as possible to propel your athlete, and precision tasks where timing a single press at exactly the right moment decides the outcome. Clear the qualifying mark in each event to advance; miss it and your run is over.
| D-pad / Arrow keys | Direction and aiming |
| Button A | Z |
| Button B | X |
| Start / Reset | Enter |
Tips
- In endurance events like swimming, alternate Z and X in a steady rhythm rather than mashing — consistent cadence builds more speed than erratic bursts.
- For aiming events, lead the moving target slightly: commit your button press a fraction before the crosshair is dead-on, to account for travel time.
- Every event has a minimum qualifying standard. Clearing it is the goal; a personal best means nothing if you fail to advance to the next round.
